Public Notice is pleased to present “The Attic”, a digital group show featuring works by Bechara Maalouf, Daniel Schubert, Ethan Shaw, Heidi Schwegler, Ian Reid, Nick Rose, Nico B. Young, and Thomas Macie. Private viewing appointments are available June 18th through July 10th.
“The Attic” is a presentation of works pictured in the living space, foregoing the standard white walled gallery and working to contextualize the art in the home. The pieces are displayed as if they were treasured objects, items that have been lived with and are deeply personal to the collector. The works themselves are fraught with intimacy as each has an element of the collected, bits of each artist’s personal lives projected.
As each of these works begin to relate to each other in the photographed vignettes, they begin to seep into each other and new narratives are made. Here the personal becomes the monumental. It is the hope that the energy that is transferred onto each piece from the artist can then be transmitted onto the viewer, creating a draw that transcends the digital space. “The Attic” is a simple reminder of the depth of the human experience and the beauty that comes from sharing it.
